The People of the Broken Neck: Maine

When the Sawyers go on the run, they head north to Wells, Maine. Dominick's wife has disappeared. His kids are scared. He's wanted by the FBI.

Whenever I've been in Wells, it's been more about salt-spray roses, and my kids, and croquet, and gin-and-tonics. Here are a few of the photos I took around Wells, Maine. I didn't manage to take photos of the mist, which made it into the book. But this one-clawed lobster made it in, too. "Dominick’s kids poked at the lobster with a stick. They wanted it out in the open. They wanted to see how it would choose a path through the clear water. They wanted it to come out from beneath that stone shaped like a round of bread."
